The Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon starts at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, runs through the scenic Virginia Beach oceanfront and finishes on the spectacular oceanfront boardwalk. Participants will be treated to 14 stages along the 13.1-mile course, featuring 20 local bands as well as 16 local high school cheerleading squads spaced approximately every mile.
At the finish line, participants and spectators can munch on tasty treats and sip frosty beer while they lounge on the sand listening to the finish line feature bands. Later that evening, a headline act will thrill the crowd at the post-race concert on the sand at the 5th Street Beach Stage.

Runner Premiums
Each registered participant and finisher will receive the following:
- Half Marathon entry
- Race number, timing tag, T-shirt and goodie bag to be picked up at the Expo

Pace Teams
Leave the pacing to us! Final Kick Sports will provide pacers for the Half Marathon. Members of Final Kick Sports will lead a number of pace groups from 1:45 to 2:30 hours. You can sign up for a Pace Team at the Final Kick Pace Team booth at the Health & Fitness Expo.
Pace teams include: 1:45, 1:52, 2:00, 2:07, 2:15, 2:22, 2:30 and 3:00
State of the art ChronoTrack systems will be used to record participants' times at the start, at certain splits along the courses and at the finish. The ChronoTrack system uses a UHF RFID disposable tag, called a D Tag, which allows you to walk away from the finish without the need to have your tag collected.
The ChronoTrack timing tag (D Tag) will be attached to your race bib. The D Tag will be labeled with a number that matches your race number. When you pick up your bib, please make sure these numbers match, and also verify that YOUR name is printed on the bib you are issued*. Proceed to the Solutions Table if any of the information is incorrect.
Prior to the race, you must remove the tag from your number and attach it to your shoe. Please follow the instructions provided in your registration packet.
PLEASE NOTE: All participants in this race must wear the ChronoTrack timing tag on your shoe in order to have their times recorded. ChampionChip timing equipment will NOT be used at this race; ChampionChip timing chips will NOT record your time.

Start Line
Location : Virginia Beach Convention Center, 1000 19th St.
The Start Line is approximately 1-2 miles from most oceanfront hotels. The Start Line opens at 5 am on race day. There will be water, fruit, Cytomax sports drink and other various snacks. The Start Line is located adjacent to the convention center parking lot so there is plenty of room to stretch out before the race. There are plenty of port-a-potties, 200 in total at the start.

Finish Line
Location : 13th Street and the Oceanfront Boardwalk
Once you finish running, there's a still lot to do at the Finish Line! Freebies, awards, munchies and festivities await you. Stay a while and listen to the groovy sounds of the Finish Line feature bands and dip your tired toes in the warm Atlantic waters while sipping a tasty beverage. Don't forget your beach towel and flip-flops! You certainly won't want to miss the post-race headliner concert on the Fifth Street Beach Stage in the evening either!

Family Reunion
Reunite with your loved ones and celebrate your amazing accomplishment with live music, refreshments and beer. As a special reward, each race participant will receive one FREE MGD 64 light beer*, which will also be available for cash purchase in designated areas.

The Family Reunion Area will be located on the beach. Look for the tall alphabet signs (A-Z), and plan in advance to meet your family and friends at a pre-determined letter.
We recommend that you tell your loved ones – or anyone you plan to meet at the finish - to carry a cell phone. And make sure you know the number! It helps to write this number on the back of your bib. You’ve just run a long way and you’ll need all the help you can get.
